Transparent Tulip - Watercolor Postcard | Reconnect Club Artwork

I'm realizing that some pieces of art that look incredibly intricate are actually fairly simple in their design...and others that seem quite basic, are actually layers and layers of tedious work. This tulip painting is a true reflection of that. Transparent, simple petals that appear to be a single brush stroke, were actually painstakingly detailed and layered. One of my biggest struggles in this art journey has been my urge to rush through things and this project forced me to stop in my tracks or the whole piece would be destroyed. To create the petals, each individual layer needed to be completely dry or all the layers would bleed together, creating a muddy, opaque mess. This painting took far longer than I would have predicted and the vast majority of that time was me forcing myself to walk away and let time pass. 

This 4x6 postcard is printed on premium matte cardstock and works beautifully for mailing, gifting, or displaying. The back has space for a message, address, and stamp.
